Breakout rooms

Split participants into groups, move between them, bring everyone back with one click.

Breakout rooms

Group work doesn't happen in a crowd

Four people in one room can't discuss two separate topics. Group work in a class, parallel sessions in a workshop, a separate conversation in an interview — all of them need participants to be able to split up.

How we solve it

Here's how it works in Orbimeet

Automatic assignment

You say how many rooms you want and participants are distributed in turn. No need to assign them one by one.

Sayfa yenilenmez

Moving into a breakout room is instant. Camera permission isn't asked again and the connection isn't rebuilt from scratch.

The host moves around

You see live who's in which room and join any of them with one click. When you're done you return to the main room.

Call everyone back

One button. Everyone in every breakout room returns to the main room.

Settings are inherited

A breakout room uses the main room's plan, password and branding. There's nothing separate to configure.

Step by step

How to use it

Open the breakout panel

The four-square icon in the bottom bar.

How many rooms?

Between 2 and 8. Then you hit "Open and share".

Participants spread out

You stay in the main room while they move into the breakouts.

Gez

From the panel you hit "Join" on whichever room you like.

Topla

The "Bring everyone back to the main room" button.

Recommended plan
Free plan included

Breakout rooms are in every plan — but with a four-person limit per meeting, in practice two or three breakouts is what makes sense.

Frequently asked questions

Common questions

Does the meeting lock block moving into a breakout room?

No. The lock is there to stop new arrivals; it doesn't block someone moving into a breakout room or coming back to the main room.

Do breakout rooms have the board and chat too?

Yes — a breakout room is a full meeting room. Its board and chat are separate from the main room's.

Can a participant switch rooms on their own?

No — the host handles distribution and recall. Only the host can move between rooms.
